Stour Lighter

I was able to view the creation of a replica of a Stour Lighter as part of the Managing A Masterpiece project. This exciting initiative will come to fruition in late August 2012.

Mildenhall Displayed

Neil MacGregor hosted the reception for the Ipswich Museum in the Roman Gallery of the British Museum. He stood next to the bronze head of Claudius with its East Anglian links. There was an opportunity to view the Roman silver from various sites in Suffolk including Mildenhall and Hoxne.

There were at least two Godwit on the scrapes visible from the South Hide at Minsmere this afternoon. Staff at RSPB Minsmere have helpfully identified this as a black-tailed Godwit ...
